New Holocaust Frauds: False Holocaust Testimony and Its Anti-Polish Implications

Australian POW Donald Joseph Watt, who claimed to have been forced to serve at Auschwitz, is described by Kaplan:

“…he [Watt] stated that he had been forced to act as a sonderkommando at Auschwitz, stoking the ovens in which the corpses of gassing victims were cremated. He then wrote his book STOKER: THE STORY OF AN AUSTRALIAN SOLDIER WHO SURVIVED AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU, describing his experiences in detail. Watts’ explanation for the late announcement of his experiences was that he had suppressed the traumatic events, but began dreaming about what had occurred and, with the help of hypnosis, ‘recovered’ the devastating memories of Auschwitz. Watts became a media sensation, if not a celebrity, making headlines around the world. He was feted by Jewish organizations, giving talks to an appreciative audience at the Sydney Jewish Museum and was described as a Righteous Gentile. The rights to his story were purchased and director Barrie Kosky announced that a movie was to be made of STOKER. (p. 1).

Kaplan then describes how Watt’s Holocaust fraud eventually came apart, “Historian Konrad Kwiet then showed that there was no basis for Watts’ claims. No Allied POW’s were ever held at Auschwitz, and there was no evidence that they were involved in extermination of the Jews. His aura rapidly fading, Watts attempted to defend himself, the movie was cancelled but it was clear that that he had lost all credibility. Undeterred, Watts adamantly maintained that his Auschwitz experiences were genuine and deserved vindication until he died.” (p. 1).

NEW HOLOCAUST FRAUDS: IMPLICATIONS FOR HOLOCAUST-RELATED ANTI-POLISH MESSAGING

We see, once again, that only the Holocaust is prominent enough, in western societies, to be worth counterfeiting. We also see, once again, how much of the Holocaust establishment is ready to believe (and promote) anything that they are told about the Holocaust. Furthermore, new Holocaust frauds, such as those of Watt, are just the tip of the iceberg. Much more common are Holocaust accounts that are generally factual, but which contain a dose of fraudulent statements. These fraudulent statements undoubtedly include anti-Polish tales.

In the case of Watt, his fraud was uncovered, however belatedly, because it centered on Auschwitz, about which much is known. But, for lesser known events, any anti-Polish fabrications can easily slip through, and be permanently accepted as factual. This is especially the case when they occur within a framework of otherwise-factual Holocaust testimonies. To the extent that the Holocaust establishment has a built-in Polonophobic bias, this provides an additional disincentive to question the facticity of anti-Polish allegations.
