Pope John Paul II (JPII) Upholds Traditional Morality. No Such Thing as a Private Faith. John Paul II

Breakfast with the Pope: Daily Readings, by Pope John Paul II. 1995. Servant Publications, Michigan

Pope John Paul II Calls Us to a Higher Life Than Selfish Hedonism. Global Sexual Revolution Implicitly Repudiated

This almost pocket-book has 120 short, independent lessons or messages. One of them is abound Finding New Life. It discusses how Christ destroyed death. Another one, Love without Limits, recounts how Christ’s teaching about the “Do Not Murder” Commandment extended it to unqualified love of neighbor. Pope John Paul II (JPII) praises women, recounting how the first persons at Christ’s empty tomb had been women. He touches on evangelism, pointing out that Christ is the Answer.

UPHOLDING MORAL STANDARDS

The Pope feels that terrorism is never justifiable. Far from being judgmental as sometimes accused (as by cultural Marxists), the Pope notes that the Lord comforts women who have had abortions. He condemns pornography as something that gratifies the physical senses but does not promote true loving intimacy. For more on the global sexual revolution that is being imposed on societies, see:

Not everything is about sex, as critics charge. The Pope also warns against consumerism.

CHURCHGOING: NO SUCH THING AS A PRIVATE FAITH

Against those who think they can find God outside the Church, the Pope reminds us that faith cannot be private.

This small book packs quite a punch!
